This was a sanity sketch from this week. Sometimes when I get to drawing too much of the same thing over and over again I like to take a break and just doodle or sketch something completely different just to break up the monotony. Such is the case with chomp bot II. Here a plucky little hare is trying to teach Chomp Bot the intricacies of gardening.

Great work as usual, Jake. I’m a big robot geek myself so stuff like this always brings a smile to my face.
BTW, I’ve actually got your Robot + Sparrow print in the queue to feature on my blog–I’ll contact you again when it goes live.
Do you have plans to add other prints to your store?

I’ll bet chompy II is one heckuva composter. Given the possible weapon-y nature of chompy I, to me this is a swords-into-plowshares thing. Maybe it was decommissioned after a war and bought at surplus. Rather like German farmers using Kettenkraftrad as light tractors after WW2.But, the robot’s AI makes it a much more interesting proposition.
There, now I’ve got a story in my head and I’m happy. Except for the fact that I didn’t invent that cool ‘bot and can’t do anything with the story. Ah, well.

I like it! I see the robot has one tooth more on his toothpick, he needs it right

I look at this and see a dark, dark outcome. Nothing good comes of teaching robots to use tools. Next thing you know you have a robot uprising on your hands, and a trilogy of movies of which only the first makes sense. Damn you Jake Parker

This reminds me of that bunny-eating robot you did that one time. I worry about you.
