Thought I’d share a few of these sketches before I sent them out to their perspective owners.

Missile Mouse rigged this electrocution staff to work with a standard fusion generator, since he couldn’t find any fully charged batteries for the thing. This will amp up it’s power by a good 500% turning it from a stun device to a lethal weapon. One powerful enough to take out the bug monsters he keeps running into on this planet.
I drew this while talking on the phone with my friend today. We had a nice conversation ranging from the effectiveness of using flashbacks as a plot device to slavery and the founding fathers. It’s always a treat when Kohl calls.
Thanks to those of you who ordered the Art Digest. If you like any of the stuff here on my site I’m pretty sure you’re going to like the book.
I hadn’t drawn a finished inked Missile Mouse in a couple weeks so I took a few moments today to do this drawing just to keep my reflexes sharp. MM climbed to the top of this rock formation to see if he could get his bearings straight on this new planet he discovered. Little did he know that he disturbed a sleeping serpent who made a home in a comfortable crevice atop this precarious perch.
Special thanks goes to my 7th grade English teacher, Ms. Glenn, who taught me the alluring art of alliteration.
It’s been a while since I’ve gotten any orders for the Agent44 Art Digest. But someone recently ordered one and it reminded me that I still have some of these left. It’s a nice little book with a ton of great sketches, finished art, and a comic story in it. Nice print quality too. You can see a bunch of images of it here. And with every book ordered I draw a neat little sketch in the front cover like so:

Generally acknowledged as one of the ultimate modern fighters the Saab JAS 39 Gripen is also (in this artist’s humble opinion) one of the most beautiful. Manufactured by the Swedish aerospace company SAAB (not the car company, though they have the same roots) the Gripen is a 4.5 generation fighter and is probably the most advanced and capable single-seat fighter in service today, save the F-22. The Gripen’s aerodynamics employ a delta wing and canard configuration. This gives it better maneuverability as well as better landing and take off capabilities.
My friend and I were talking about what our favorite jets are, and I was saying it would be cool to somehow combine the Gripen with the stealth characteristics of the F-22. Then he challenged me to draw it. So, here’s my pass at it.
Now I know what you’re thinking, “the vertical stabilizer would make the radar x-section so large as to render many of the other stealth features of the plane in-effective.” True, but as soon as you take away the tail fin the plane becomes something else, it’s no longer a Gripen. For the sake of aesthetics I kept it.
Anyway, it was fun exercise. And if you want to push your industrial design skills I recommend taking any jet and stealthifying it. What would the SR-71 look like?
